I'm in trouble

I have know idea what a spread is. Goodnight.

Memories

Arturo Herrera shows how fragments of image bring about emotions, desires, and tone quality even in only black and white. The water in the film made for an interesting image; I've heard of it before, but have never seen photos with the water markers.
Kamran Katouzian is another artists that I may want to find out more about. I must have missed something when I was trying to remove the images of Herrera's work from my blog.

Book Ideas

The images from Tom Scott were quite interesting to look at; the scenes on the beach made me think about images I myself have seen while enjoying the coastline. Mr. Scott showed patterns, color, and had taken photos of things not to scale. The images made me open up my thinking of what I want to use for my book. Even though I looked for photos, they are not really what I had in mind. Now after seeing these other pictures I have a better understanding of what I could use for my book. The details I could add would make for a much more interesting object to look at and for anyone to pick up and enjoy.

My Life

I have played with many different ideas for my book. I liked the idea if making a photo album of my life with my husband over the past 25 years, but then I thought maybe that wouldn't be appropriate. How about a book of my children through the eyes of a mother; this one I like too. Now that I really need to get this idea down onto paper, I was thinking that a book about myself and who I am would be the best way to go. I can put my husband and my children in this book, because without them, I wouldn't be the person I am today.
I would begin my book with a baby picture of myself and come up with some kind of text of who this person is, then gradually lead into the person I am today. To close my book I would dedicate it to my family and thank them for putting up with me through this idea that I had about getting a degree so late in my life. I would remind my daughter to finish school before getting married and  having a family. I'm looking forward to this book and can't wait to hold it in my hands.

Typography

Stephen Sagmeister spoke about design.  The images of words and where the words were placed, but how they were placed.  He mentioned that he was in a couple of bad bands and now he makes covers.  I can see that the images on a cover would catch a purchaser's eyes if the cover is interesting and eye catching stead of plain and simple.

First day of school

I awoke this morning feeling a bit apprehensive because today was the first day of school.  Although I am not new to the school, I have no idea what my classes will be like and what I am up against.   Here I am trying to write my first blog on a short bit of something I saw on screen.  What was it? I can only say that it seems that one needs to be experimental and not be afraid to try knew things.  I'm hoping to look back at this sometime during the semester and see some major growth in my blogging.
David Carson showed words such as greyhound and remarked about it being boring.  He also showed words with action and gave ideas about how he experimented with fonts to make it more interesting.
